BIG 12 POWER
• Seventh-ranked Texas begins a rigorous Big 12 Conference schedule this weekend on the road at Oklahoma State on Friday (6 p.m. Central) and Oklahoma on Sunday (1 p.m. Central).
• All six Big 12 men's tennis teams are ranked in the ITA top-25, including four in the top-10 -- No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Baylor, No. 7 Texas, and No. 10 TCU. The league is rounded out by 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State and 25th-ranked Texas Tech.
• The Big 12 preseason coaches' poll released on Thursday mirrors the ITA rankings with OU picked as the league favorite and Texas slotted third.
• Texas is the reigning Big 12 regular season co-champion and features last season's individual Big 12 champions at No. 1 singles (Søren Hess-Olesen) and No. 5 singles (Nick Naumann).
ON THE ROAD
• Friday and Sunday mark the fourth and fifth true road contests for the Longhorns.
• Texas is 3-0 on the road this season with wins at Tulsa, Arkansas, and SMU.
WINNING TRENDS
• The Longhorns enter Tuesday having won five of their last six matches and 21 of the last 22 home matches.
• Texas is 7-1 at home this season. Six matches were played at Weller Indoor Tennis Center and two have been played at the outdoor Caswell Tennis Center.
• Last season, Texas went undefeated at home (13-0) for the first time since 2010 (17-0). Texas went on to win the Big 12 regular season title both in 2010 and 2014.
HESS-OLESEN RANKED #1
Two-time All-American Søren Hess-Olesen is continuing to distinguish himself as one of the best players to dawn a Texas uniform:
• Named the top-ranked singles player in the country on Tuesday, becoming UT's first No. 1-ranked player since Chad Clark in 1995.
• Enters Tuesday on a 17-match winning streak (last loss was Oct. 21, 2014) and a 28-set winning streak (hasn't lost a set since Jan. 16).
• 15-0 during dual match play this season.
• 15-1 against ranked opponents this season.
• Approaching 100 career singles wins, entering Saturday with a 98-34 career record.
• Reigning Big 12 Player of the Year and regular season champion at No. 1 singles and a three-time All-Big 12 honoree in singles.
• Advanced to the NCAA Singles Championship semifinals last season.
SINGLES SUMMARY
• UT's top three positions in singles are a combined 40-6 this season, including a 30-1 mark at singles positions one and two.
• Texas holds an overall 62-23 (.729) record in singles competition during dual match play.
• Top-ranked Søren Hess-Olesen (25-2, 15-0 dual) leads the Longhorns at the No. 1 singles position in the lineup. Hess-Olesen has a 15-0 record at No. 1 singles and 15 wins over nationally ranked opponents since the fall tournament season.
