AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 10 Texas Men's Tennis lost to No. 2 Baylor, 4-1, on Wednesday evening at Caswell Tennis Center.
The match marked the final regular season home competition for five Texas seniors -- Adrien Berkowicz, Lloyd Glasspool, Søren Hess-Olesen, Clement Homs, and Jacoby Lewis. In a four-year period with this class, UT has won a Big 12 regular season title, advanced to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals, totaled 74 wins, and held a 42-6 record at home
But the Bears (19-4, 3-1 Big 12) handed Texas its first Big 12 home loss since 2013 by winning the doubles point, and singles matches on courts one, four, and six. Baylor earned the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The top-25 matchup between No. 23 Glasspool/Hess-Olesen and BU's 25th-ranked Diego Galeano/Julian Lenz at No. 1 doubles did not finish.
In singles action, the Longhorns narrowly lost five-of-six first sets. In all five of those first-set losses, UT was within two games, including a tiebreaker on court six.
Glasspool registered the lone point for the Longhorns on Senior Night with a straight-set win over Baylor's 30th-ranked Tony Lupieri, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 2 singles. Glasspool's win tied the dual match, 1-1, and improved his season record to 11-2 at No. 2 doubles and 5-1 against ranked opponents during dual match play.
Baylor took the lead with wins on courts one and four, and clinched the match as Felipe Rios defeated Nick Naumann, 7-6(3), 6-3, on court six.
The Longhorns (18-4, 2-2) conclude regular season play with another top-10 match in the Big 12 -- at No. 7 TCU on Saturday at 1 p.m. Central.

Head Coach Michael Center
Opening statement: I didn't like the way we started in the doubles. We have just got to play with a little more energy, a little more consistency. We are still making some early mistakes and some points that we can't afford to make. It's quick. Six games, no ad -- the points happen quickly and the games end quickly. We kind of dug ourselves a hole and I thought we would have a shot in all six singles matches and it looked like we were in all six first sets and only got one of them. We really got behind at that point and it was just too much for us to overcome tonight.
On the TCU match: There's no time for us to hang our heads right now. We've got another top-10 match on Saturday against a team that is going to be desperate to beat us. We've got to respond. This match is over. Sleep on it tonight and tomorrow, we've got to go back to work and get ready to play TCU on Saturday. It's going to be a big, big test for us.
On preparing for postseason play: We have just got to keep trying to get better. We have been saying it all year long. We have played well at times, but I still don't feel like we've played our best. We have a lot to play for. We want to try and find our stride and play our best tennis at the end. We will wake up tomorrow and go back to work.
