Women's Tennis shuts out Abilene Christian, 4-0

Longhorns resume conference play Saturday at Baylor.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas (8-9) claimed a pair of doubles matches and posted three singles wins en route to a 4-0 win over Abilene Christian Tuesday afternoon at the Whitaker Tennis Courts.
UT's freshman tandem of Ryann Foster and Dani Wagland notched the first doubles win for the Horns and dealt ACU's Whitney Williams and Erin Walker a 6-1 defeat at second doubles. Texas clinched the doubles point at the third slot, where sophomores Ratnika Batra and Neda Koprcina posted a 6-4 win over Lucile Pothier and Carli Knezevich.
Batra made short work of Williams at fourth singles and registered a 6-0, 6-0 win to stake Texas to a 2-0 lead. Two-time All-America junior Breaunna Addison extended UT's lead to 3-0 behind her 6-1, 6-2 win over Brittney Reed at first singles.
Texas closed out the match at fifth singles by way of senior Lina Padegimaite's 6-1, 6-2 win over Pothier. The remaining matches at the second, third and sixth positions were suspended.
Texas resumes conference play on Saturday (April 11, noon CT) when it visits Baylor.
