Former UT standout Taylor signs with NPF’s Dallas Charge

Joins former Longhorns Osterman, Ogle, Thom, Washington and Willis on current pro rosters
AUSTIN, Texas – Former Texas softball infielder Nadia Taylor has signed on as a free agent with the Dallas Charge of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF).
Taylor's signing gives the Charge even more of a Burnt Orange & White look as she joins former UT All-American Taylor Thom as part of the roster, while current Texas assistant Jennifer McFalls (head coach) and former Longhorns standout Chez Sievers serve on the coaching staff of the NPF's new affiliate team.
"I'm so honored and excited to be a part of this new franchise," Taylor said in a Dallas Charge release. "I'm blessed to have this opportunity, and to share it with my coach from Texas is the ultimate treat. I'm thrilled to play in front of Texas fans once again, and I believe this franchise team here in Texas will help our sport grow. We're young, and we all love the game, so this will make for a great summer for us."
Taylor joins former UT standouts Cat Osterman (USSSA Pride), Mandy Ogle (Pennsylvania Rebellion), Taylor Thom (Dallas Charge), Brejae Washington (USSSA Pride) and Megan Willis (USSSA Pride) as Longhorns listed on current NPF rosters.
The Humble, Texas, product spent the 2014 pro season with the Akron Racers after signing on as a free agent. She appeared in 21 total games, making her first career appearance during the season opener against the Chicago Bandits.
During a decorated career on the Forty Acres, Taylor earned four consecutive National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region and All-Big 12 Conference accolades. She finished her time at UT listed all over the Texas record book, currently ranking in the career top 10 in games started (tied for second – 234), doubles (fourth – 41), games played (tied for fourth – 234), RBIs (fifth – 132), walks (tied for fifth – 87), on-base percentage (sixth - .427), hits (seventh – 219), HR's (tied for seventh – 32), slugging percentage (eighth - .554), batting average (.337 – 10th) and runs scored (10th – 120).
She also played basketball for the Longhorns during the 2012-13 campaign, averaging 6.8 minutes-per-game over her 14 total contests. Taylor set career highs with eight points, on 3-for-3 shooting, and three rebounds during a 76-38 rout of Kansas on Jan. 23, 2013.
