AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Track & Field opens its outdoor season this week at the TCU Invitational. The Longhorns enter the meet fresh off a pair of top five finishes at the NCAA Indoor Championships that saw the men and women combine to win five event championships.
The TCU Invitational opens Thursday afternoon with the discus and hammer throw competitions. The bulk of the meet is set for Friday from Lowdon Track Complex in Fort Worth.
Texas will take on a number of regional schools and see some familiar faces in Big 12 rivals Baylor, Texas Tech and host TCU.
Action begins Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the javelin. The next field events are slated for 12:45 p.m. and running events start at 1 p.m. with the 4x100 meter relay. Thursday's throwing events start at 1 p.m. with the hammer throw and discus to follow.
The TCU Invitational will be live streamed via FloTrack. Fans with a subscription to the site's FloPro services can watch the meet online. Live results of the meet will be provided by Flash Results Texas with a link provided at TexasSports.com and GoFrogs.com. Admission to the meet is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
