No. 15 Men's Tennis shuts out UTSA and Louisiana

Longhorns advance to the finals of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions in Corpus Christi.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – No. 15 Texas (9-5) scored dual-match wins over UTSA and Louisiana and advanced to the finals Friday afternoon at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions.
"This was a good day for us," said UT head coach Michael Center. "We had a lot of different guys contribute, and I thought we played hard and we played well. We're excited about playing in the finals of this tournament tomorrow. We're trying to get better, whether it's against Southern Miss or Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. We'll be ready to go."
Texas won a pair of doubles matches to nail down the doubles point before winning four singles matches to close out a 5-0 win over UTSA in the day's first match.
Junior George Goldhoff, the Big 12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week, knocked off UTSA's Diogo Casa by a 6-0, 6-4 count at first singles. Senior Michael Riechmann finished off Eric Buchalter 6-2, 6-0 at third singles, and freshman Colin Markes posted a 6-4, 6-0 win over Fabian Brand at fourth singles.
Freshman Johnny Goodwin added a 6-0, 6-1 win over UTSA's Takeru Watanabe at fifth singles.
Texas made short work of Louisiana in the afternoon semifinal match between the two teams and emerged with a 4-0 win. Sophomore Adrian Ortiz defeated the Ragin' Cajuns' Jake Wynan by a 6-1, 6-4 count at third singles, and Riechmann knocked off Will Huyton by a -6-2, 6-2 count at fourth singles.
Sophomore John Mee dealt Vlad Kramarov a 6-4, 6-1 defeat at fifth singles, and freshman Colin Markes finished off Coleman Wahlborg by a 6-3, 6-4 margin at sixth singles.
Texas takes on either Texas A&M-Corpus Christi or Southern Mississippi in Saturday's finals at 11 a.m. Central.
