INDIANAPOLIS – Former Longhorns Troy Dumais and Cory Bowersox and UT rising senior Mark Anderson landed top-six finishes in the men's synchronized three-meter finals Wednesday evening on day five of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials.
Dumais, a bronze medalist with Kristian Ipsen in the same event at the 2012 London Olympics, placed second alongside Ipsen in the finals with 1,260.39 points. Bowersox, a five-time All-American who completed his collegiate eligbility in March, placed fourth alongside former Miami diver Zach Nees with 1,100.31 points.
Anderson, an All-American and two-time Big 12 Diver of the Year, teamed with Dwight Dumais of Longhorn Aquatics to place sixth in the finals with 1,065.06 points.
The participating teams completed preliminary and semifinal rounds last Saturday before the field whittled down to eight teams for Wednesday's finals. Only the winning team in Wednesday's finals was assured of a spot on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team.
Anderson, Dumais and UT signee Grayson Campbell will compete in the men's individual three-meter finals on Saturday at 3:40 p.m. CT. NBC will air live coverage of Saturday's finals.
