Adams scores 14 points, Team USA falls to Serbia in Olympic semifinals

Texas alum Rachael Adams had a team-high 14 points on eight kills and six blocks in the match.
RIO DE JANEIRO – Texas Volleyball alum Rachael Adams (2008-11) posted a team-high 14 points on eight kills and six blocks, but Team USA fell to Serbia, 3-2 (20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 15-13) on Thursday in the Olympic semifinals.
Adams' eight kills came on 16 swings, as USA converted 39.1 percent of its attacks into points.
Six of Team USA's 17 blocks came from Adams, as the U.S. finished with a 17-16 blocking advantage.
The U.S. will conclude the Olympic Games with a chance for bronze on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. CT, facing either Netherlands or China.
