- Texas is 2-2 all-time against the California Golden Bears, going 1-1 in match-ups in Austin. In the most recent meeting, the Longhorns dropped a 2-1 home decision to Cal way back on Sept. 7, 2001. The Burnt Orange & White hold a 22-18-9 all-time mark against the current members of the Pac-12 Conference.
- Texas is definitely spreading it around when it comes to points so far over the opening four matches of 2016. Thirteen different Longhorns have points thus far this season, while seven different UT players have scored goals. Freshmen and newcomers are also making their presence felt with Kyra Falcone owning two goals and Emma Jett, Tecora Turner, Monique Iannella and Atu Mshana already owning assists this year.
- Texas senior midfielder Julia Dyche is off to a very "helpful" start to the 2016 season with four assists already through just four matches. She needs just four more to enter the Longhorns single-season top 10 list where she would tie four players for 10th. The all-time single-season assist record at Texas is 14 by Kelly Wilson established back in 2004.
- Texas continued its momentum on Friday night by routing Sam Houston State, 7-0. Six different Longhorns located the scoring column led by freshman forward Kyra Falcone, who scored her first two career goals on the Forty Acres over a 41-second stretch of the first half. UT out-shot the Bearkats by a staggering total of 30-1, including 13-1 in shots on goal, and 18-0 over the final 45 minutes. SHSU didn't register a shot over the last 75:24 of the contest.
- The Longhorns are allowing an average of just seven shots a match so far in 2016 and have permitted a total of just five combined shots over the last 180 minutes of play against Detroit and Sam Houston State.
- Several single-match standards under the guidance of head coach Angela Kelly were achieved during Friday's rout of Sam Houston State. The 30 shots for the Texas offense marked the most in a tilt since Kelly arrived prior to 2012, while the one shot allowed was the fewest for any opponent over the same stretch.
- Texas now has 13 combined goals over its last three matches. The last time the Longhorns offense managed to total at least 13 scores over a three-contest stretch was from Aug. 31-Sept. 7, 2014, during wins over Nevada (5-1), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (6-0) and Montana (2-0).
- With its Friday win over Sam Houston State, the Longhorns are currently riding a three-match winning streak, tying for the second-longest winning skein over the last five seasons. Since the start of 2012, UT has now won three matches in a row on six different occasions and won four in a row from Sept. 20-29, 2013.
- Several Longhorns seem to ALWAYS be on the pitch. Senior defender Isabelle Kerr and freshman defender Atu Mshana have played all 360 possible minutes this season, while sophomore midfielder Katie Glenn (324), senior midfielder Julia Dyche (321) and freshman defender Emma Jett (338) have been on the field for over 300 minutes.
- Texas sophomore forward Alexa Adams has picked up this season where she left off from an All-Big 12-level rookie campaign in 2015. The Lancaster, Calif., native has now scored during each of the Longhorns' last three matches against College of Charleston, Detroit and Sam Houston State, giving her at least one point in nine of the Longhorns' last 11 matches dating back to Oct. 9, 2015, against Iowa State. Over that 11-match stretch, Adams has eight goals and five assists for 21 total points on an efficient 26 shots. In fact, on her LAST 11 SHOTS ON GOAL, ADAMS HAS SCORED EIGHT TIMES (73% scoring efficiency!).
- Texas' defense is particularly stingy, having not allowed more than two goals in a single match since allowing three during a 3-1 loss at TCU back on Oct. 17, 2014, a stretch of 30 consecutive contests. In fact, an opponent has only scored more than two goals in a contest four times since head coach Angela Kelly took over the program (three times in her first season on the Forty Acres in 2012) and ONLY ONCE OVER THE LONGHORNS' LAST 73 MATCHES!
- Senior forward Jasmine Hart is off to a great start to the 2016 season as well, managing her fourth career contest with three or more points (goal, assist) in the 3-1 win over College of Charleston and a goal in the rout of Sam Houston State. The three-point occurrence marked the first time the Haltom City, Texas, product had registered at least three points in a single match since scoring a goal and dishing an assist in a rout of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi back on Sept. 5, 2014. She had played in 34 matches since that rout of the Islanders.
- The injury bug is really making its presence felt during the early part of the 2016 campaign for Texas. Potential starter in freshman forward Cyera Hintzen remains day-to-day with a lower leg injury suffered in preseason training camp. And now, redshirt sophomore forward Mikayla Flores has unfortunately joined her teammate on the sidelines by suffering an ACL tear in her left knee during the Seattle match that will keep her out of action for the rest of the 2016 season. Sophomore midfielder Kayra Dollas missed Texas' first three contests of the season with a preseason lower leg injury before returning to the pitch for 27 minutes against Sam Houston State.
- A pair of Longhorns seem to always be penciled in the line-up as senior midfielder Julia Dyche has earned at least some playing time in Texas' last 52 matches, while senior defender Isabelle Kerr has appeared in 46 of UT's last 47 contests dating back to each player's freshman campaign in 2013.
- Over the four-plus season tenure of head coach Angela Kelly, if Texas scores a goal, there's a pretty good chance UT will win the match. Since starting 2012, the Longhorns are 42-11-6 in contests where they tickle the twine at least once and are 3-0 in such situations so far this season.
- If the Longhorns needed any preseason motivational material, they certainly got it in the form of the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The league's coaches picked UT to finish sixth out of nine teams, garnering 32 total points to trail four-time defending champion West Virginia (eight first-place votes/64 points), Texas Tech (one first-place vote/57), Oklahoma (42), Baylor (35) and Oklahoma State (34 points). Kansas (30 points), TCU (22) and Iowa State (8) rounded out slots seven through nine.
