Softball rolls past McLennan Community College in fall action, 12-0

Sophomore catcher Taylor Ellsworth led the way with a 3-for-4 effort, a two-run HR and three RBIs
AUSTIN, Texas – On Wednesday night at Red & Charline McCombs Field, Texas softball banged out 14 hits in improving to 6-0 during the fall campaign with a commanding 12-0 victory over McLennan Community College.
The Longhorns have now outscored their six opponents during the fall season by a combined total of 45-4.
Sophomore catcher Taylor Ellsworth led the charge at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a two-run HR and three RBIs, while freshman infielder Janae Jefferson was a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Senior pitcher Paige von Sprecken was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, freshman infielder MK Tedder was 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI and junior infielder Ciera Schick was 1-for-2 with a RBI.
In the circle for the Longhorns, junior left-hander Brooke Bolinger started, allowing one hit over two scoreless innings of work. Freshman Ariana Adams (two K's), von Sprecken (two K's) and freshman Chloe Romero (one K) each tossed a scoreless frame, while redshirt junior Erica Wright finished the combined shutout by permitting two hits over two innings with four strikeouts.
Texas softball returns to action this Fri., Nov. 3, in a special match-up against the National Pro Fastpitch Texas All-Stars. Included on the NPF roster are former UT standouts Brejae Washington and Nadia Taylor. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT with a live broadcast slated for Longhorn Network. Admission and parking (in the new East Campus Parking Garage) are free for all fans.
