AUSTIN, Texas – Texas sophomore forward Cyera Hintzen has been called up to participate in the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team Training Camp from Nov. 28-Dec. 4 in Orlando, Fla.
Team USA head coach B.J. Snow has called 22 college and four National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) players to the fifth domestic event of the year for the age group that also took two trips overseas to Spain in March and Sweden in June.
Hintzen owns previous experience wearing the Red, White & Blue as part of the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team. The Garland, Texas, native earned caps with the squad in New Zealand in June 2016, scoring goals during both a 4-4 draw and a 4-1 win over the New Zealand Under-20 Women's National Team. She also participated in U.S. Under-19 National Team training camps held in Carson, Calif., over Oct. 3-10, 2015, and at Lakewood Ranch, Fla., from Jan. 23-30, 2016.
A first team 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-South Region and All-Big 12 Conference selection, Hintzen is fresh off a breakout collegiate campaign that saw her lead the Big 12 in points (25) and match-winning goals (six) while tying for the top spot in goals (10). She was also the offensive leader for the Longhorns once the squad entered the NCAA Tournament, posting a team-leading three total goals, including a program record-tying two goals during a 3-0 victory over North Texas (Nov. 10).
