Softball announces game times and TV designations for 2018

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas softball squad will have 36 of its regular-season games broadcast on live television during the upcoming 2018 campaign, with Longhorn Network set to televise all 33 UT home games and 39 total contests from Red & Charline McCombs Field, including neutral match-ups during both the Texas Classic and Texas Invitational.
ESPN2 will broadcast two of Texas' high-profile games at Oklahoma (April 28-29), while FOX Sports Net, as part of the Big 12 Conference's television package, will show UT's May 5 contest at Baylor.
LHN coverage will begin on Fri., Feb. 9, during the initial day of the season-opening Texas Classic. The exclusive 24/7 home of the Longhorns will begin its softball coverage with the Burnt Orange & White's contests against Incarnate Word (4:30 p.m. CT) and Wisconsin (7 p.m. CT).
Texas is coming off a 2017 campaign that included 33 victories and a 13th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament following its berth in the championship round of the College Station Regional.
Entering the 2018 season, Texas is "receiving votes" in both the USA TODAY/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and ESPN.com/USA Softball preseason top 25 polls and was tabbed to finish third in the Big 12 Conference regular-season race via a vote of the league's coaches.
