No. 1 Softball suffers loss in game two at No. 4 Alabama

Alabama evened the series with a 11-4 victory Friday night at Rhoads Stadium.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 1 Texas Softball fell in game two versus No. 4 Alabama, 11-4, Friday night at Rhoads Stadium, forcing a rubber match in Saturday's series finale. Texas won Thursday's series opener, 9-1.
The Longhorns fall to 32-3 overall, 9-2 in conference play, 9-1 on the road and 12-3 against ranked opponents.
Freshman RHP Hannah Wells (5-2) suffered the loss. The Coahoma, Texas, native gave up six runs on three hits while walking a pair of batters.
Senior catcher Reese Atwood led Texas offensively, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI. Junior center fielder Kayden Henry hammered a solo home run and drew a walk. Senior designated player Kaydee Bennett went 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of singles and also drove in a run after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the first. Junior first baseman Katie Stewart had a 2-for-4 performance.
Texas captured a 4-0 lead midway through the second inning but gave up 11 unanswered runs.

Saturday's series finale is set for 12:30 p.m. CT at Rhoads Stadium. The game will air on SEC Network with Beth Mowins (play-by-play) and Michele Smith (analyst) on the call.
