Men's Swimming and Diving signs nine to National Letters of Intent

Class includes eight swimmers and one diver.
AUSTIN, Texas - Head swimming coach Eddie Reese, head diving coach Matt Scoggin and the University of Texas Men's Swimming and Diving program announced the signing of nine student-athletes for the class of 2019 on Monday. The class includes one diver, eight swimmers and three student-athletes that have siblings on the 2018-19 Longhorn roster.
Sam Artmann | Austin, Texas | Butterfly
Artmann, a member of the Austin Swim Club, will be joining his brother Josh Artmann, who is a standout on this year's Texas squad. Josh is a junior and 2018 NCAA Championships qualifier. Sam put together his top time in the 100 breaststroke in September with a 1:04.31 time.
Andrew Harness | Villa Park, California | Villa Park High School | Diving
Harness, a 2016-17 NISCA All-American, took fifth on platform, eighth on 1-meter and 12th in the 3-meter event at the 2018 USA Diving Junior National Championships. In 2017, Harness took second-place in the 1-meter event at the California High School State Championships with a total of 597.95 points in the finals. Harness was also able to secure a sixth-place finish on the boy's platform at the USA National Diving Championships.
Trey Jackson | Austin, Texas | Freestyle
Jackson put together a time of 47.83 in the 100 freestyle that gave him a fourth-place finish at the 2018 UIL 6A Region 3 Championships. Jackson has a top time of 47.57 in the 100 free Y and a top time in the 50 free Y of 22.77. Jackson is the younger brother of Tate Jackson, an NCAA champion and five-time All-American on this year's Longhorn roster.
Ethan Harder | Billings, Montana | Billings Senior | Backstroke
Harder is a member of the USA Swimming National Junior team and competed in the 200 backstroke for Team USA at the 2018 Youth Olympics Games in Buenos Aries, Argentina. Harder took a first-place finish at the 2018 Speedo Junior Championships in the 200 backstroke. At the 2018 Montana Long Course State Championships, Harder was an 11-time champion and in 2017 he won 13 events at the state championships.
Cole Crane | Jacksonville, Florida | Episcopal School of Jacksonville | Freestyle/Butterfly
Crane represented the United States at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Fiji in the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 50 and 100 freestyle. In 2017, Crane won the 50 freestyle (20.40) at the Florida High School Class 1A State Championships.
Peter Larson | Bloomington, Minnesota | Freestyle, IM, Backstroke
In 2018, Larson was an NISCA All-American and named to the 2018-19 USA Swimming National Junior Team and USA Junior Pan Pacific Team this summer in Fiji. Larson won a silver medal in the 200 back and came home with gold in the 4x100 medley relay.
Jake Foster | Montgomery, Ohio | St. Xavier High School | Breaststroke /IM
Foster was named to the 2018-19 USA Swimming Junior National Team after winning the 400 IM at the 2017 USA Summer Nationals with a time of 4:19.20. Foster was also named to the 2018 USA Swimming Junior Pan Pacific Championships roster and a 2018 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. His top time in the 400 IM Y of 3:45.46 would have given him a third-place finish at the 2018 Big 12 Championships.
Caspar Corbeau | Portland, Oregon | Sunset High School | Breaststroke
Corbeau, who has dual citizenship with the Netherlands and represents the Dutch in international competition, was named a 2017-18 NISCA Swimming All-American. In 2018, he took the 100 breaststroke (55.12) title at the 6A Oregon Swimming State Championships. His top time of 1:55.97 in the 200 breaststroke would have won the event at the 2018 Big 12 Championships and his top breaststroke time (53.42) would have given him a third-place finish.
Paul DeGrado | Jacksonville, Florida | The Bolles School |Breaststroke and IM
DeGrado, a specialist in the breaststroke and IM, is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. In 2017, he took second in the 100 breaststroke (54.90) and third in the 200 IM (1:51.42) at the 1A Florida state swim meet. In the medley relay, the Jacksonville native swam the breaststroke leg that won a state title, and ultimately helped The Bolles School win the state championship.
