No. 5 Volleyball headlines 2018 Big 12 honors

Junior Micaya White was named Player of the Year and Logan Eggleston earned Freshman of the Year honors.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 5 Texas Volleyball headlined the 2018 Big 12 honors after landing five Longhorns on the All-Big 12 team and earning three major awards.
Junior Micaya White was named 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year, freshman Logan Eggleston was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year, and Head Coach Jerritt Elliott was named Big 12 Coach of the Year.
Seniors Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani and Morgan Johnson, freshman Brionne Butler, White and Eggleston earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, while Butler and Eggleston also landed on the Big 12 All-Rookie Team.
White becomes the Longhorns' 11th Big 12 Player of the Year and 22nd Conference Player of the Year. She is a three-time unanimous All-Big 12 First Team member.
Eggleston is Texas' eighth Big 12 Freshman of the Year and first since White in 2016. She is the 10th player to earn Conference Player of the Year honors.
Eggleston and Butler were unanimous selections on the Big 12 Rookie Team. It marks the first All-Big 12 honor for Johnson and Bedart-Ghani.
For Elliott, the award is his sixth Big 12 Coach of the Year honor and first since 2014 (2004, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2018).
