NOTES
- The No. 11/8 Texas women's basketball team opens its 2018-19 regular season on Thursday when it plays host to Atlantic 10 Conference favorite Duquesne at the Frank Erwin Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- The Series: Texas and Duquesne meet for the first time in program history. The Longhorns are 7-1 [.875] all-time against teams in the current alignment of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Texas head coach Karen Aston is 3-2 all-time against the Dukes, with each of those meetings coming while Aston was the head coach at Charlotte.
- Season Openers and Home Openers: Texas is 33-11 [.750] in season openers and 40-4 [.909] in home openers. Under head coach Karen Aston, the Longhorns are 5-1 in season openers and 6-0 in home openers. Texas has opened its season at home in 14 of the last 16 years.
- 45th Season: Texas tips off its 45th season of intercollegiate basketball on Thursday. The Longhorns hold an all-time record of 1,065-388 [.733] in their previous 44 years of competition.
- About the Longhorns: Texas is coming off a 2017-18 season in which it posted a 28-7 overall record and a 15-3 mark in Big 12 Conference play. The Longhorns advanced to their fourth consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since Texas made eight NCAA Regional Semifinal appearances in a row from 1983-90.
- Texas 91, West Texas A&M 63 [Exh.]: Freshman Charli Collier turned in a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds Sunday and senior Lashann Higgs added 14 points as the Longhorns defeated West Texas A&M, 91-63, in an exhibition game in the Frank Erwin Center on Oct. 28.
- The 1,000-Point Club: Lashann Higgs, who has played in 103 career games for the Longhorns, enters her senior season 36 points away from becoming the 44th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points. Higgs has 964 points during her three years on the Forty Acres.
