Five Longhorns will compete in the Longhorn Invitational this weekend.
AUSTIN -- Five Longhorns will compete in the Longhorn Invitational this weekend from Nov. 9-11 at the Texas Tennis Center. Play will start Friday morning with one round of doubles, followed by two rounds of singles.
Doubles play starts at 9 a.m. Central with senior Rodrigo Banzer and senior Colin Markes facing Ilgiz Valiev and Artem Kapshuk of Texas Tech while freshman Chih Chi Huang and senior Leonardo Telles pair up against Matteo DeVincentis and Tim Dollman of Auburn.
Banzer, Markes and Huang are scheduled to take the court at 10:30 a.m. CT for their first-round singles matches. Banzer plays Constantin Frantzen of Baylor, Markes takes on Tommy MyInikov of Texas Tech and Huang squares off against Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi of Central Florida. Junior Johnny Goodwin gets started against Pierce Gilheany of Louisiana at 12:45 p.m. CT. The second round of singles is slated to begin at 1:45 p.m. CT.
The Longhorn Invitational will feature a four compass singles draw and a four compass doubles draw.
