- The No. 13/12 University of Texas women's basketball team opens Big 12 Conference play on Wednesday when it plays host to Oklahoma State. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- Texas in Big 12 Openers: Texas is 12-10 all-time in Big 12 Conference openers and has won four consecutive league lid-lifters. Last season, the Longhorns defeated Oklahoma 88-78 on December 28, 2017 in Norman, Okla., to open Big 12 Conference play.
- The Series: Wednesday's game marks the 50th all-time meeting between the Longhorns and the Cowgirls. Texas leads the all-time series 34-15, including a 19-4 mark when the game is played in Austin. The Longhorns have won the last eight meetings between the two teams.
- Texas in the Big 12: The Longhorns have recorded 45 Big 12 Conference victories in the past three years combined, which marks the most Big 12 wins in a three-year period in program history. Texas is 45-9 [.833] in the Big 12 since the 2015-16 campaign and the Longhorns have recorded three consecutive second-place finishes in the league during that span.

- Sweet Like Sug[ar]: Junior Sug Sutton is in her first season as the starting point guard for the Longhorns, but she is quickly beginning to emerge as one of the nation's top floor leaders. Sutton, who played her 80th career game on Saturday vs. Northwestern State, ranks 21st nationally in total assists [71] and is 18th in assists per game [5.9].
- Up Next: Texas returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on West Virginia. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
