- Texas enters this week with a 0-5-0 all-time mark against North Carolina (head coach Angela Kelly's alma mater), while this will represent the first time UT has ventured to play the Tarheels in Chapel Hill, N.C. UNC won the last meeting over the Longhorns in Austin back on Aug. 28, 2015, 2-0. Texas is 1-1-0 all-time against UCF with the Golden Knights having prevailed in the last meeting between the two programs in Tampa, Fla., back on Sept. 12, 2014, 2-0.
- With her 31st-minute goal during the 3-0 season-opening win at Rice (Aug. 17), junior forward Cyera Hintzen registered her seventh career match-winning score. The Garland, Texas, native now owns seven match-winners in her 13 career goals, meaning that 54% of the time she's scored, it has been to win a contest.
- Texas' three goals in the Aug. 17 win at Rice marked the most goals scored in a season-opening match by the Longhorns since beating Dayton to begin the 2012 campaign, 3-2 (OT).
- UT owns a 40-81-13 record all-time against ranked opponents. Under Kelly's guidance, the Horns are just 7-17-4 in such contests, but have defeated at least one rated foe in five of her six seasons on the Forty Acres, having knocked off No. 25 Colorado and No. 5 West Virginia last year. The 2017 team (2-2-0 against rated teams) equaled the 2015 squad in beating two ranked foes in a single season, something that hadn't been done prior to that since 2010.
- The Longhorns are bringing back some impressive production for 2018 as UT returns 97% of the goals (28-of-29), 90% of the assists (27-of-30), 94% of the total points (83-of-88) and all 11 shutouts between the pipes for the upcoming campaign.
- Texas' defense is particularly stingy, having allowed more than two goals in a single match ONLY THREE TIMES OVER THE LONGHORNS' LAST 109 MATCHES (occurrences were at TCU on Oct. 17, 2014 & Oct. 28, 2016 and at Duke in NCAA Sweet 16 action on Nov. 19, 2017) and only twice over the last 64 matches. In fact, an opponent has scored more than two goals in a contest only six times since head coach Angela Kelly took over the program (three times during her first season on the Forty Acres in 2012).
- Texas started the new season at No. 17 in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll released on Aug. 7. The preseason ranking marked the first for the Burnt Orange & White since beginning the 2009 campaign at No. 15. UT is now sitting at No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches, Top Drawer Soccer and Soccer America polls.
