Cross Country ranked No. 2 in USTFCCCA Regional rankings

The Longhorn men and women both came in at No. 2 in the preseason.
AUSTIN, Texas - With cross country just four days from a return, the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its preseason regional rankings on Monday. Both the Texas men and women are ranked No. 2 to begin the season in the South Central Region.
On the men's side, Edrick Floréal tabbed Pete Watson to lead the group. The Longhorns return each of their top six runners from last season. UT finished second at both Big 12 Championships and the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, qualifying for NCAA Championships. The men are receiving votes in the national preseason poll.
On the women's side, Floréal appointed two-time Olympian PattiSue Plumer to lead the program. Six of the top seven runners from last season return for the Longhorns, who finished third at Big 12 Championships and second at NCAA South Central Regional Championships. The women are ranked No. 27 in the national preseason poll.
