Longhorns fought back from 17-point deficit to take a lead into the fourth quarter before falling.

LANDOVER, Md. — The University of Texas was defeated by the University of Maryland 34-29 on Saturday at FedExField. UT fell behind 24-7 in the middle of the second quarter, coming all the way back to take a 29-24 lead into the fourth quarter. Maryland retook the lead early in the fourth quarter before an 86-minute weather delay, and then tacked on a field goal for the final score.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Maryland got the scoring started on a 28-yard rush by Jeshaun Jones. Jones had a rushing, receiving and passing touchdown in the game.
The Longhorns struck back quickly on a 39-yard touchdown pass from Sam Ehlinger to Devin Duvernay.
The Terrapins then scored the next 17 points to take a 24-7 lead at the 8:32 mark of the second quarter.
The Longhorns began their comeback on Keaontay Ingram's first career touchdown rush, a five-yard run to bring UT within 10 at 24-14.
After a safety and the ensuing free kick going out of bounds, the Longhorns scored on a 22-yard touchdown pass to Collin Johnson.
Texas trailed by just two, 24-22, at the half.
In the second half, Kyle Porter found the end zone on a two-yard rush to give the Longhorns their first lead of the game, at 29-24.
Maryland took a two-point lead, 31-29, with 14:25 left in the game.
Following the ensuing kickoff, the game was placed in a weather delay due to thunderstorm in the area. The weather delay lasted 86 minutes.
The Terrapins added an 18-yard field goal to increase the lead to 34-29.
The Longhorns turned the ball over on their final three drives in the defeat.
