- As of Wed., Sept. 19, Texas was one of just 14 unbeaten teams remaining in all of NCAA Division I women's soccer. Five teams are still perfect: Auburn, Virginia, Boston College, Washington State and Texas A&M, while nine are unbeaten with at least one tie: TEXAS, FGCU, Georgetown, UC-Riverside, Colorado, USC, Stanford, VMI and North Dakota.
- Texas leads the all-time series over Baylor by a count of 12-9-4 and maintains a 6-3-2 advantage in matches played in Austin. The recent series has proven to be exceptionally close as the last 13 matches have been settled by one goal or required overtime with UT leading over that stretch 6-4-3. BU won in its last visit to Mike A. Myers Stadium, topping the Longhorns back on Oct. 25, 2015, 2-1.
- Texas has now scored in nine straight matches to open the season, tying the 1998 Longhorns for the fifth-longest consecutive match scoring streak to start a year in program history. The 1994 UT squad set the school mark by tallying a goal in each of its first 12 matches, while the 2017, 2000 and 1997 teams tickled the twine in 11 straight to begin the campaign.
- Texas and Baylor are currently the top two scoring teams in the Big 12 with 24 goals each, but the Longhorns lead the Bears in categories for goals-per-match (2.67 to 2.40) and total points (73 to 66). UT has been better defensively thus far, ranking second in goals-against-average (0.54) while Baylor rates eighth (1.00).
- UT enters Friday night at 12-8-2 all-time in Big 12 Conference openers. The Longhorns are 4-1-1 in league lidlifters under the guidance of head coach Angela Kelly and won last season's Big 12 opener over Iowa State, 1-0.
- The Longhorns premiered at No. 16 in the first release of the NCAA Division I Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) on Tuesday. Texas ranks third in the Big 12 behind TCU (No. 9) and Kansas (No. 13) and is one of five total league schools in the RPI Top 25.
- Senior forward Alexa Adams has a scoring streak going having tallied at least one point in five straight matches. This isn't the first time she's been on such a point streak in her career. Adams managed a point in a career-best six straight contests as a freshman from Oct. 9-30, 2015.
- Sophomore midfielder Haley Berg has roared to life offensively over the past two weeks as the Celina, Texas, native recently scored a goal in consecutive matches for the first time in her career (vs. Houston Baptist and UTRGV) and has now totaled two points in each of UT's last three contests.
- Senior midfielder Katie Glenn has been on a hot streak of her own lately with goals in three of UT's last four matches and points in four of the last five contests. In all, Glenn has registered at least one point in six-of-nine matches this season and at least two points in five-of-nine.
- The Longhorns have wasted no time this season jumping on their opponents as UT has outscored the opposition during the first halves of matches by a combined total of 14-2. Only Texas State and No. 23 UCF have managed to locate the net during the opening 45 minutes of play against Texas this year.
- With her seventh-minute goal against Northern Colorado (Sept. 16), junior forward Cyera Hintzen registered her ninth career match-winning score. The Garland, Texas, native now owns nine match-winners over her 20 career goals, meaning that 45% of the time she's scored, it has been to win a contest.
- After going just 2-8 during one-goal matches during the 2016 season, the Longhorns since have turned around their fortunes in such contests by going a remarkable 15-3 over their last 18 one-goal matches since beginning 2017 and are 4-0 in 2018.
- Texas has scored first in eight of its nine matches during the 2018 campaign, and the Longhorns have trailed for only 11:04 (against Texas State) out of 832:38 of match time so far this season. Texas has scored first in 24 of its last 30 total matches dating back to the start of 2017.
- Texas has won its last 16 non-conference home matches, dating back to a 1-0 defeat against No. 19 California on Sept. 4, 2016, and 13 of its last 15 home contests overall (13-1-1).
- The Longhorns have won their last 12 September matches in a row dating back to a 2-1 (2OT) loss to Oklahoma State on Sept. 30, 2016.
- Texas began the new season at No. 17 in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll released on Aug. 7. The preseason ranking marked the first for the Burnt Orange & White since beginning the 2009 campaign at No. 15. On the strength of its unbeaten 8-0-1 start, UT has now climbed as high as No. 9 in the Soccer America poll, No. 10 in the Top Drawer Soccer ranking and is No. 11 in the United Soccer Coaches listing. Texas has now appeared in each of the last 16 United Soccer Coaches poll releases dating back to Sept. 12, 2017.
- With her score at 61:48 against Long Beach State, freshman forward Mackenzie McFarland registered her first career goal and match-winner on her very first career shot. For her effort, the Coppell, Texas, native was honored as the Big 12 Conference's Freshman of the Week for Sept. 4.
- The Burnt Orange & White are a remarkable 6-2-4 in overtime matches combining the 2017 & 2018 seasons and have gone to at least one extra session in 12 of their last 24 contests.
- Junior goalkeeper Nicole Curry's career goals-against-average of 0.68 is currently the lowest mark in school history, 0.16 ahead of standout UT net minder Abby Smith's career GAA of 0.84 (2012-15).
- Junior forward Cyera Hintzen has scored a point in seven-of-nine Texas matches this year (a goal in six-of-nine), currently rates first in the Big 12 with eight goals in 2018, has equaled the school career record for "golden goals" with three and owns five career goals in the 82nd minute or later in a match (all five have been match-winners!).
