No. 1 Volleyball falls in five at No. 3 Baylor

WACO, Texas – The No. 1 Texas volleyball team fought valiantly to claw back from down 2-0 to No. 3 Baylor on Wednesday night, but after forcing a fifth set, the Bears took the match with a 15-9 final set victory, taking the match, 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 15-9.
The Longhorns saw three players record double-digit kill performances led by 18 kills from sophomore Logan Eggleston. Senior Micaya White added 17 kills, while freshman Skylar Fields added 11.
Eggleston finished the night with a double-double as she added 12 digs and four blocks to her stat line. White tallied nine digs and three blocks, while Fields added seven blocks.
Sophomore Brionne Butler added nine kills and a team-high eight blocks.
Sophomore Jhenna Gabriel dished out 45 assists and scooped up a career-high 15 digs for her third double-double of the season. She also tallied a team-high two aces.
Sophomore libero Sydney Petersen added a team-best 19 digs, while recording six assists and an ace.
The Longhorns return to action on Saturday evening with a 7 p.m. home match against Kansas. Texas will honor its seniors following the match.
