Volleyball earns No. 2 seed in 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championship

Longhorns earn the opportunity to stay home until NCAA Semifinals
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas volleyball team found out their post-season fate on Sunday evening as the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball committee announced that the Longhorns had earned the No. 2 seed in the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championship.
Texas will play the University of Albany on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. CT and will host the early match of UC Santa Barbra and Texas State at 4:30 p.m.
This is the Longhorns first Top Four Seed since 2016 when the Longhorns were No. 4. Texas also faced 11 of the 64 teams in the bracket at least once during the 2019 season.
First- and second-round matches will be played December 5-7 at 16 campus sites. Teams winning both matches will continue to regional play December 13-14. Regionals for the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be held at four non-predetermined campus sites, which will be announced on December 8. At each site, four teams will compete in single-elimination regional semifinal competition.
The regional winners will advance to the national semifinals and championship final hosted by Dusquene, SPORTSPittsburgh on December 19-21 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The national semifinal matches will broadcast on ESPN, and the championship match will broadcast on ESPN2.
