- The Texas women's basketball team closes out the three-day Rainbow Wahine Showdown on Sunday when it faces host Hawaii. Tip-off at the Stan Sheriff Center is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed through BigWest.TV. The game will be carried on the radio at 105.3 FM in Austin and at TexasSports.com/audio online.
- The Series: Texas and Hawaii meet for the third time in the history of the two programs. The all-time series is tied 1-1. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Longhorns won a 71-50 decision against the Rainbow Wahine in Honolulu on Nov. 27, 2011. Texas is 11-3 [.786] all-time vs. teams in the current alignment of the Big West Conference.
- Joining The Club: Senior forward Joyner Holmes enters Sunday's game just two points away from becoming the 44th member of UT's 1,000-point club. Holmes has 998 career points and will play her 92nd game in a Texas uniform on Sunday. Her career stat line also includes 668 rebounds.
- Record-Setter: Joyner Holmes has a double-double in every game this season and her seven consecutive double-doubles to start the season have set a new Texas school record for most consecutive double-dips. She will go for her eighth double-double on Sunday vs. Hawaii.
- Double Trouble: Texas leads the nation with 14 double-doubles so far this season. Holmes has a double-double in all seven games this season, while sophomore center Charli Collier has six and senior guard Lashann Higgs has one double-dip this year.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 123 of their last 146 games overall, including five of seven games this season. The Longhorns hold a +10.3 rebounding margin.
- Among the Nation's Best: Texas has 1,092 all-time victories in its program history and ranks sixth all-time against NCAA Division I teams. The Longhorns have also won 73.1 percent of their games all-time.
