No. 2 Women's Golf leads Big 12 Championship by 22 strokes

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Texas has four golfers among the top-five individually and the No. 2 Longhorns lead the 2019 Big 12 Conference Championship by 22 strokes Monday entering the event's final day at the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Battling incredibly windy conditions, the Longhorns shot a nine-over-par 297 on Monday, making them the only team in the field to shoot better than 300. Through 36 holes, Texas sits at eight-over-par [287-297=584]. Baylor is in second place with a 30-over-par 606 [292-314], while Oklahoma State is in third with a 33-over-par 609 [300-309].
Sophomore Agathe Laisne is the only golfer in the field under par and she holds the individual lead with a one-under-par 143 [69-74]. The best score of any individual in the field on Monday was a 74 and three of the four 74s were recorded by Texas golfers.
As a team, Texas leads the field with 109 total pars on the week and is second with 26 birdies. The Longhorns have the best scoring average of all teams on par-four [4.16, +16] and par-five [4.98, -1] holes.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Laisne holds a four-stroke advantage for the individual lead with a one-under-par two-round total of 143 [69-74]. She has a team-best eight birdies through the first 36 holes of the Big 12 Championship to complement 21 pars. Laisne has the best scoring average on par-four holes [3.95, -1] of all golfers in the field.
- Freshman Sara Kouskova is in second place individually with a three-over-par 147 [67-80]. Kouskova was powered by a strong opening day, shooting 67 on Sunday. She is four strokes back of her teammate for the individual lead.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for fifth place with a six-over-par 150 [76-74]. She has recorded a team-leading 24 pars on the week and also has four birdies.
- Junior Emilee Hoffman is tied for fifth with a six-over-par 150 [75-75]. She has the best scoring average of all golfers in the field on par-five holes [4.63, -3].
- Freshman Hailee Cooper is in 13th with an eight-over-par 152 [78-74].

"That was a pretty good round we played today, considering the wind blowing as hard as it did. The front nine was playing pretty tough today. The back nine was really fair and a little more scoreable. If you could just salvage that front nine, you were going to be in good shape. I think we probably did that better than anybody today."
