NORMAN, Okla. – With a 115-point final day surge, Texas Women's Track & Field pulled away for a 15.5-point victory at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships on Sunday. The victory capped a Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor title sweep for the Longhorn women, the first time the Texas women have accomplished that since 2016 and record seventh time in league history. Texas had eight individual championships during the three-day meet, topped by double victories from senior's Teahna Daniels (100m/200m) and Ashtin Zamzow (heptathlon/javelin). Daniels, who won her third-straight 100-meter title, earned the meets high point scorer award with 22.5 points. Zamzow became Texas' first-ever women's Big 12 heptathlon champion and also claimed the javelin title in the midst of competing in the multi-even competition. Trevor Danielson (javelin), Trip Piperi (shot put), Steffin McCarter (long jump) and Sam Worley (1500m) registered individual wins for the Longhorn men while the women swept the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays. Daniels ran the second leg on the victorious 400-meter relay team to garner her additional 2.5 points.

That trio also swept the top three spots in the 200 meters with Daniels getting the victory and Flannel and Alfred going two-three.
