Swimming and Diving earns two medals at the World University Games

Tate Jackson and Evie Pfeifer pick up a gold and silver in Naples, Italy
AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas Swimming and Diving team won two medals for Team USA at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy on Thursday.
Texas alumnus Tate Jackson was joined by Zach Apple, Dean Farris and Robert Howard to win the gold medal in the 4x100 free relay with a time of 3:11.03. All four American splits were the fastest splits in the field, including Jackson's anchor leg of 48.02. The Brazilian relay finished more than four seconds later (3:15.27) for the silver medal.
Evie Pfeifer out-touched Llaria Cusinato of Italy by .02 to grab the silver medal in the 400 IM. Her time of 4:40.16 was her second-best of her career.
In the semifinals on 3-meter, Jordan Windle was the highest placing American with a fourth-place finish and 395.10 points. He then took sixth-place in the finals, nearly hitting the 80-point mark in the first and fifth rounds. Windle led off with a 107B that earned 79.05 points and on his fifth dive his 5154B was awarded 79.90 points.
