The Texas freshman shot a three-under-par 69.
LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Freshman Texas women's golfer Sophie Guo, in her first collegiate round, shot a three-under-par 69 Monday to pace the No. 3 Longhorns on the opening day of the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club.
The Longhorns are currently tied for fifth place overall with an even-par 288. No. 9 Wake Forest, the 2019 NCAA runner-up leads the field with a six-under-par 282. The 12-team field at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate features 11 squads ranked among the nation's top-25, including six top-10 teams.
LINEUP AT A GLANCE
- Guo currently stands in fifth place overall with a three-under-par 69. She charted six birdies and 10 pars on Monday.
- Junior Kaitlyn Papp is currently tied for sixth, recording a two-under-par 70. It was her 39th collegiate round at par or better. Papp totaled six birdies and eight pars on the day.
- Senior Emilee Hoffman is tied for 25th with a one-over-par 73.
- Sophomores Hailee Cooper and Sára Kousková are tied for 45th with four-over-par 76s.
