NOTES
- Texas looks to become just the sixth program in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach 1,100 all-time victories when it faces Kansas on Wednesday. Tip-off at the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- Reaching 1,100 Wins: Texas is currently 1,099-404 [.731] all-time in the program's 46-year history. The Longhorns look to join Tennessee, UConn, James Madison, Louisiana Tech and Stanford in the 1,100-win club. Texas earned the 1,000th win in program history on January 27, 2016, when the Longhorns defeated Kansas, 70-46, at the Frank Erwin Center.
- The Series: Texas and Kansas meet for the 39th time in the history of the two programs with the Longhorns leading the all-time series 28-10. Texas has won 14 consecutive meetings in the all-time series with Kansas, sweeping the season series in each of the past six years. The Longhorns are 12-4 all-time against the Jayhawks when the game is played in Austin.
- Taylor-Made: Freshman guard Celeste Taylor is the reigning Big 12 Conference Co-Freshman of the Week. During the week, she averaged 11.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also led her squad in steals [9] and three-pointers made [5]. In the win at Kansas State on Sunday, Taylor swiped a career-high seven steals, which tied for eighth-most in school history.
- Sophomore Success: Sophomore center Charli Collier averages a double-double on the season [one of six players in the Big 12 to do that] with 13.8 points per game and a squad-best 10.4 rebounds per game. She has 10 double-doubles and ranks 24th nationally in rebounds per game.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 129 of their last 156 games overall, including 11 of 17 games this season. The Longhorns hold a +8.9 rebounding margin, which ranks 22nd nationally. Texas has reached 50 or more rebounds in five games this year.
- Next Up: Texas embarks on a two-game road swing, beginning at Oklahoma State on Saturday. Tip-off at Gallagher-Iba Arena is set for 1 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Net.
