Ehlinger completed 12-of-18 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the 2019 Valero Alamo Bowl vs. No. 11 Utah. He also rushed for 73 yards and scored once more. The Austin, Texas native's four-touchdown effort helped him earn Offensive MVP honors from the Alamo Bowl. He joins former UT quarterbacks Bobby Layne, Vince Young and Colt McCoy as the only Longhorns to have won multiple bowl Offensive MVP honors. Ehlinger also received the nod in the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Cosmi, a native of Humble, Texas, helped anchor a UT offensive line that allowed the Longhorns to rush for 231 yards on 37 attempts, averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Entering the Alamo Bowl, Utah fielded the nation's top-ranked rushing defense, previously allowing only 2.7 yards per carry. Texas was one of only two teams to rush for more than 115 yards against the Utes in 2019. Cosmi also limited consensus All-American DL Bradlee Anae to four solo tackles and only one half-sack during the Alamo Bowl.
