Head coach Steve Sarkisian records 100th career victory.
AUSTIN, Texas — No. 11/11 Texas held Mississippi State to a season-low 187 yards, posting a 31-3 victory in front of 103,586 fans at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. The Longhorns (6-2, 3-2 SEC) have held all five of their SEC opponents to season lows in yards per play.
With the result, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian recorded his 100th career victory. Sarkisian boasts a 100-57 (.637) mark in 13 seasons as a head coach.
Rasheem Biles collected a career-best three sacks and two forced fumbles. Biles tallied eight tackles, including four tackles for loss.
His second-quarter strip sack of Mississippi State quarterback AJ Swann set up a 61-yard fumble return touchdown by Maraad Watson, extending Texas' advantage over the Bulldogs (4-4, 2-4 SEC) to 17-0 with 1:13 left before halftime. It was the longest fumble return touchdown by the Longhorns since Rodrique Wright's 67-yard return against Oklahoma on Oct. 8, 2005.
Texas has now forced a turnover in 27 of its last 28 home games. During that stretch, the Longhorns have converted those 50 takeaways into 207 points.
Justin Cryer, Colton Vasek, Justus Terry and Zina Umeozulu all delivered sacks of their own.
Arch Manning finished 16-of-20 for 220 yards and three scores in the victory. The signal caller posted his ninth career performance with at least three passing touchdowns.
Manning orchestrated a 4-play, 62-yard opening drive, punctuating the possession with a 14-yard pass to Cam Coleman. One play earlier, Manning linked up with Coleman for a 47-yard reception, the wideout's longest of the season.
Coleman notched two catches for 61 yards and a score. The junior's 20 career receiving touchdowns are tied for the sixth-most among active FBS players.
Fellow receiver Emmett Mosley V hauled in four receptions for a season-high 98 yards and a touchdown. Mosley's first score of the year came on a 42-yard touchdown to cap off the scoring in the final frame. The connection marked Manning's 10th completion of 40-plus yards in 2026, the most in the SEC.
Running back Raleek Brown added a 4-yard receiving touchdown with 5:35 remaining in the third.
Texas is 24-2 (.923) at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium since 2023, with 19 of those wins coming by at least 14 points. The Longhorns are tied for the second-most home victories by at least 14 points in the FBS, trailing only Ohio State (22).
Up next, Texas will travel to face the Missouri Tigers at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 7, and will be televised on ESPN.
