Track and Field’s Piperi receives votes from The Bowerman Watch List Committee

Piperi won the 2019 NCAA Outdoor shot put title at Mike A. Myers Stadium last June.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Track and Field thrower Tripp Piperi received votes as a candidate on The Bowerman's 2020 Preseason Watch List. He also received votes prior to the 2019 season.
Piperi, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, won the 2019 NCAA Outdoor shot put title, making him the second Longhorn in the last six years to do so. His winning effort was a 21.11m/69-3.25 personal best and improved on his mark as the second-best shot putter in UT history. He trails only four-time NCAA shot put champion and 2016 Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouser on the school's all-time list. Piperi's NCAA Championship mark was the fourth-best throw ever by a Longhorn.
The Bowerman will release an updated men's watch list on Thursday, Feb. 6.
