Track & Field closes 44 Farms Invitational with win and personal bests

Shaiquan Dunn won the shot put on the final day of competition in College Station.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas Track & Field closed out competition Saturday at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium, highlighted by a victory and two personal-best performances.
Shaiquan Dunn led the way for the Longhorns, winning the men's shot put with a lifetime-best mark of 18.55m (60-10.5). Benjamin added a fifth-place finish in the event with a throw of 16.89m (55-5).
On the track, Troy recorded a personal best in the men's 400 meters, placing 10th overall after winning his heat with a time of 47.19 seconds.
Texas returns to action next week with split-squad competition, traveling to the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, from April 16-18 and the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, from April 17-18.
