No. 1 Volleyball wins 3-2 thriller over No. 3 Baylor

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Volleyball pulled off a thrilling five-set win over No. 3 Baylor, 23-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-13, 15-9, on Thursday night at the Frank Erwin Center.
After narrowly dropping the first two sets, Texas turned the match on its head with a 25-23 win in set three. The Longhorns then dominated the final two sets to remain undefeated and improve to 11-0 this season. The comeback win from down 2-0 is the first for Texas since 2017 at Kansas State.
Logan Eggleston led Texas with her second double-double of the season, totaling 22 kills and 15 digs. The Longhorns had four total players with double digit kills, as Skylar Fields had 14 kills, Asjia O'Neal finished with 13 kills and Brionne Butler added 10 kills. Butler chipped in six total blocks as well. Molly Phillips finished with seven kills and four blocks.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 51 assists and totaled 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. She also added two blocks and a kill.
Nalani Iosia, making her first start in the libero position, finished with 15 digs and eight assists. Sydney Petersen had 11 digs, three service aces and two assists. Reilly Heinrich finished with five digs and two aces.
The top-ranked Longhorns and the third-ranked Bears will square off again on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Erwin Center. The match will be broadcast on Longhorn Network.
