THE ALL-TIME SERIES
• Texas is set to face off with Kansas for the 20th time in program history on Saturday, and for the 11th time in Lawrence.
• The Longhorns are 16-3 against Kansas all-time, and 7-3 when the teams face off at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
• UT's .842 winning percentage against the Jayhawks is its best against any current member of the Big 12 Conference.
HEAD COACH TOM HERMAN
• Tom Herman is in his sixth season overall as a head coach with a career record of 53-22 (.707). He is in his fourth season at Texas with a mark of 31-18 (.633).
• Herman won his 50th career game as a head coach in a 27-16 triumph over Baylor on Oct. 24, 2020.
• He won his 30th game at Texas one week later, as the Longhorns bested West Virginia, 17-13, in Austin.
• Herman's 31 wins are the fourth-most by a UT coach during his first four seasons at the helm in Austin.
• He owns a career mark of 15-10 against top-25 opponents, 6-6 against top-10 foes and 3-3 versus teams ranked in the top five.
• Including the 2020 season, Herman has spent 17 of his 23 seasons as a coach in the state of Texas on the collegiate level.
• Herman graduated from Cal Lutheran and received his master's degree in education from The University of Texas.
BOUNCING BACK
• Texas is 14-4 in games following losses in three seasons under Tom Herman. That includes a 4-1 mark in 2019, with the Longhorns picking up wins over Rice, Kansas, No. 16 Kansas State and Texas Tech following losses.
• The Longhorns also responded to a 39-27 loss to No. 5 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game two years ago by knocking off No. 6 Georgia, 28-21, in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
• UT is 2-1 in such instances thus far in 2020.
• After losses, Texas has scored a total of 659 points (36.6 per game), including outburts of 45 points (vs. Oklahoma, 2020), 48 points (at Rice, 2019), 50 points (vs. Kansas, 2019) and 69 points (at K-State, 2020).
• In the three seasons prior to Herman's arrival at Texas, the Longhorns were 9-10 following a loss (does not include season openers following a bowl-game loss).
ROAD SUCCESS
• During Tom Herman's four seasons as head coach, Texas is 10-5 in true Big 12 road games (in opponents' home stadiums).
• Texas' record moves to 11-9 away from Austin when including the neutral-site Texas-OU games.
• The Longhorns are 8-4 in games played outside the state of Texas under Herman (2-0 in 2020).
• In the three years prior to Herman's arrival, Texas was 5-7 in true Big 12 road games, including just a 2-6 mark over the two seasons before he took over.
