NOTES
- Texas concludes a stretch of four games in eight days on Monday when it plays host to West Virginia at the Frank Erwin Center. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by FS1. It's the annual Shoot for a Cure game for cancer awareness.
- The Series: Texas and West Virginia meet for the 20th time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 12-7. Texas leads 6-1 when the game is played in Austin. The Mountaineers won a 68-63 decision earlier this season in Morgantown.
- Among The Best: Three Texas players have been listed among the top-10 players in the nation at their respective positions. Senior point guard Sug Sutton is on the top-10 list for the Nancy Lieberman Award, senior forward Joyner Holmes is on the top-10 list for the Katrina McClain Award and sophomore Charli Collier is on the top-10 list for the Lisa Leslie Award.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 135 of their last 163 games overall, including 17 of 24 games this season. The Longhorns hold a +8.5 rebounding margin, which ranks 19th nationally. Texas has reached 50 or more rebounds in six games this year.
- Sophomore Success: Sophomore center Charli Collier is one of six players in the Big 12 Conference to average a double-double with a team-high 13.2 points per game and a squad-best 10.3 rebounds per game. She has 12 double-doubles and ranks 17th nationally in rebounds per game. Collier, her team's starting center, is second on her team averaging 29.8 minutes per game.
- Taylor-Made: Freshman guard Celeste Taylor is a two-time Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week selection and has made a big impact on her team this season. Taylor leads the team in three-pointers made [23] and is second in steals [36]. She averages 9.1 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. Taylor has scored in double figures in 12 games this season.
- Next Up: Texas returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to Kansas State. Tip-off at the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 12 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by LHN.
