Texas looks for its 41st consecutive Big 12 title.
No. 1 Men's Swimming & Diving Preview: Big 12 Championships
When: Feb. 26-29
Where: West Virginia University, Morgantown, W. Va.
Facility: The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park
The Championship will begin on Wednesday with time trials scheduled for 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET. Men's 1-meter diving preliminaries will begin at 3 p.m. CT/4 p.m. ET, followed by 200-meter relay, men's 1-meter diving and 800-freestyle relay finals set for 4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET.
TICKETS
Admission on Wednesday is free for the entirety of the day. Tickets to all preliminary competitions running Thursday through Saturday are $6, while finals tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park Box Office.
STREAMING
Streaming for the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship will begin at 5 p.m. CT/6 p.m. ET until the conclusion of the day's events, beginning on Thursday and running through the end of the Championship. All coverage will take place on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
NOTES
- Texas swept the 2019 championship, taking home the men's and women's titles for the seventh consecutive year. The men's team has taken the Conference title every year since the league's inception in 1996-97.
- In 2019, Ryan Harty's performance in the 200-yard backstroke (1:38.61) bested a record that stood for just one year.
- Also in 2019, Eddie Reese was named the Men's Swimming Coach of the Meet, Matt Scoggin was named the Diving Coach of the Meet, Townley Haas was named Swimmer of the Meet, Grayson Campbell was named the Diver of the Meet, and Braden Vines earned Newcomer of the Meet honors.
- UT took 19 of 21 events throughout the week of the 2018-19 championships.
- Jordan Windle has claimed 11 titles this season and took second place in the platform final at the 2019 USA Winter Championships, giving him a spot on the Team USA World Cup Team.
- The Longhorns hold three top-10spots in the 100 Free with Daniel Krueger leading the way with an A cut time in the nation at 41.45. Maxime Rooney follows at 41.91 sitting in fourth, and Drew Kibler sits in seventh at 42.16.
- Kibler holds the nation's fourth fastest time in the 500 free at 4:11.19, good for an a-cut time, and second in the 200 free at 1:30.83.
- In the 200 back, Austin Katz holds the second-best time at 1:37.35, a-cut worthy, and Ryan Harty follows in fifth at a time of 1:40.06.
- Caspar Corbeau sits in fifth at 51.46 in the 100 breast for an a-cut time.
