No. 10 Women’s Swimming and Diving wins eighth straight Big 12 title

Longhorns finish 2020 Big 12 Championships in style to take home crown.
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The No. 10 Texas women's swimming and diving team picked up its eighth straight Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship after claiming the title at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, in Morgantown, West Virginia on Saturday evening.

- Julia Cook opened up the final day of competition with a victory in the 200 back with a time of 1:51.62, good for a b-cut. Evie Pfeifer followed in third with a time of 1:54.80.
- Claire Adams picked up her second individual title of the meet by taking home the title of the 100 free with a time of 48.03. Bridget Semenuk went 49.28 for second, and Miranda Heckman came in third at 49.57. Kyla Leibel finished in fourth at 49.99.
- Mary Smutny won her first Big 12 title, taking home the mile race with a time of 16:52.73, three seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
- In the 200 breast, Holly Jansen and Kennedy Lohman finished fifth and sixth at 2:14.95 and 2:16.77, respectively.
- Kelly Pash won the 200 fly at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 1:54.56. Lauren Case finished the 200 fly in a time of 2:00.03 for third.
- In the platform competition, Jordan Skilken won with a score of 304.05. Paola Pineda took second with a score of 295.25, while Janie Boyle finished in third with a score of 288.80.
- The Longhorns won the 400 free relay with a time of 3:14.24 with the combination of Adams, Cook, Semenuk and Pash.
- Texas finished with 18 event wins on the week.
