The ANNIKA Award is collegiate women's golf's highest honor.
Junior Texas women's golfer Kaitlyn Papp is on the final top-10 watch list for the 2020 ANNIKA Award, it was announced Tuesday.
The ANNIKA Award recognizes the most outstanding female Division I collegiate golfer as voted on by her fellow golfers, coaches, golf sports information directors and the golf media. The award, in its seventh year, is named for Hall of Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam.
The winner of the ANNIKA Award and two finalists will be announced on Golf Channel in May. The winner will receive an exemption into the 2021 Evian Championship.
Papp competed in six tournaments and 18 rounds for the Longhorns as a junior. She recorded a stroke average of 70.78, which was a career-best and ranks as the second-best single-season stroke average in program history. All 18 of her rounds counted towards the team score and 12 rounds came at par or better, including five rounds in the 60s. Papp totaled four top-10 individual finishes, including three top-five showings. She finished the season ranked No. 5 nationally in the Golfweek individual rankings.
