Additional bleacher seating being added to Red & Charline McCombs Field
03.05.2020 | Softball
Record crowds expected for No. 1 Texas Softball’s remaining home games this season.
Boosted by its first No. 1 ranking in 14 years, Texas Softball (20-3) is adding temporary bleacher seating behind the right field wall for the remainder of the season. The new stadium set-up is slated to begin with the Tuesday, March 25 game vs UT Arlington when Cat Osterman's #8 jersey will be retired in pre-game ceremonies. Less than 100 general admission tickets currently remain available for that game at TexasSports.com/Tickets.
Once regular stadium seating is completely sold, general admission bleacher seating will become available atTexasSports.com/Tickets. The right field bleachers will have separate entrances, portable restrooms, and concessions available for fans. Tickets will cost just $5 per person and will not include access to the rest of the stadium.
If you'd like to attend a Texas Softball game this spring, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible to guarantee admission at TexasSports.com/Tickets or via phone at 512-471-3333. All tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be sold out in advance of game day for a number of home games this spring.
Texas is coming off a high-profile, seven-game week that saw it post four wins over ranked foes and knock-off the No. 1 & No. 2 teams (UCLA, Washington) in consecutive games for the first time in program history. As part of those efforts, junior utility player Lauren Burke and sophomore pitcher Shealyn O'Leary were honored as the Big 12 Conference's Player and Pitcher of the Week for March 3, respectively.
Next up for Texas is the Longhorn Invitational March 6-8 at Red & Charline McCombs Field. The Horns begin play with a 4 p.m. game versus Liberty on Friday.
