No. 7 Women’s Golf tied for 10th after day two at The Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. — The No. 7 Texas Women's Golf team registered a 10-over-par 298 on Saturday to stand in a tie for 10th place after the second round of The Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall. Senior Sara Kouskova carded a 1-over-par 73 to pace the Longhorns in the second round and is tied for 22nd place in the individual standings at 1-over-par 145 (72-73) after the first 36 holes.
The 18-team field at The Landfall Tradition includes six teams that are ranked in the updated Division I Muzuno WGCA Coaches Poll (Oct. 15), including No. 4 Virginia, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 South Carolina, No. 9 Michigan, No. 11 Wake Forest and No. 16 Florida State.
No. 9 Michigan tallied a 9-under-par 279 on Saturday to hold the lead in the team standings with a two-round total of 8-under-par 568 (289-279). The Wolverines own a one-stroke cushion over No. 8 South Carolina at 7-under-par 569 (291-278), while Michigan State is third at even-par 576 (293-283). The Longhorns have a two-round score of 13-over-par 589 (291-298).
Michigan's Mikaela Schulz posted a 5-under-par 67 on Saturday and grabbed the 36-hole individual lead at 7-under-par 137 (70-67). Schulz holds a three-stroke advantage over Justine Fournand of South Carolina at 4-under-par 140 (67-73).
The Landfall Tradition concludes with 18 holes on Sunday, Oct. 31. Texas will be paired with Illinois and Furman for Sunday's final round, and tee times will begin with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CT (8:45 a.m. ET).
The Lineup
- Senior Sara Kouskova fired a 1-over-par 73 on Saturday and is tied for 22nd place in the individual standings at 1-over-par 145 (72-73). She registered three birdies on Saturday (No. 6, par-5; No. 9, par-4; No. 17, par-4).
- Freshman Bohyun Park carded a 4-over-par 76 in the second round and is tied for 30th at 3-over-par 147 (71-76). Park recorded four birdies on Saturday (No. 2, par-3; No. 6, par-5; No. 7, par-4; No. 12, par-5).
- Junior Sophie Guo posted a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday and is tied for 47th place at 5-over-par 149 (74-75).
- Sophomore Bentley Cotton tallied a 2-over-par 74 in the second round and is tied for 58th at 7-over-par 151 (77-74). Cotton had three consecutive birdies during the second round (No. 5, par-4; No. 6, par-5; No. 7, par-4).
- Graduate Brigitte Thibault registered a 5-over-par 77 and is tied for 58th at 7-over-par 151 (74-77).
