No. 2 Volleyball sweeps Kansas State again

The Longhorns finished their regular season home schedule with a perfect 14-0 record.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Volleyball finished off a perfect 14-0 regular season home schedule with a sweep of Kansas State, 25-19, 25-16, 25-13, on Friday at Gregory Gymnasium.
The Longhorns improved to 22-1 and 13-1 in Big 12 Conference play with the win and will close out the regular season at Texas Tech next Friday and Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas middle blockers Brionne Butler and Asjia O'Neal combined to hit .654 in the match with 18 total kills. O'Neal also had three blocks and Butler added two.
As a team, Texas hit .360 in the match and held the Wildcats to a .156 hitting percentage. The Longhorns also had a strong night from the service line with nine aces and finished the weekend with 18 for the weekend.
Skylar Fields finished with 10 kills, three digs and one block, while Logan Eggleston had seven kills, eight digs, two assists and one service ace.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 27 assists and finished with seven digs. Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres had four assists, three blocks and one dig.
Texas trailed early in the first set, down 6-2 before rattling off a 6-1 run to go up 9-7. The Longhorns would lead the first set the rest of the way and finish it off 25-19.
The Longhorns led set two almost wire-to-wire and used a 7-0 run to create some cushion in the set. Texas held Kansas State to a .000 hitting percentage in the second set.
The final set was closer early on with Texas holding onto an 8-7 lead. The Longhorns outscored the Wildcats 17-6 the rest of the way to close out the match.
