Softball adds Fresno State pitching transfer Hailey Dolcini to the program

The Ferndale, Calif., native was both a 2021 All-American & Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Year
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas head softball coach Mike White officially announced on Tuesday the signing of Fresno State right-handed pitching transfer Hailey Dolcini (Fifth-Year Senior/RHP/Ferndale, Calif./Fresno State/Fortuna H.S.) to join the Longhorns program in January prior to the start of the 2022 softball season.
"We're excited to announce the signing of Hailey Dolcini to our roster for the 2022 season," White said. "She is a highly-decorated pitcher that will bring a lot of experience and depth to our team. She is a fierce competitor who plays with passion. Her personality will blend well with our team both on and off the field."

A fifth-year senior pitcher out of Fresno State, Dolcini heads to the Forty Acres with a slew of impressive stats and honors in tow. During an outstanding 2021 senior campaign for the Bulldogs, the Ferndale, Calif., product posted a 22-5 record with a 1.12 ERA (11th in NCAA Division I) over 180.2 innings of work and 259 strikeouts (13th in NCAA Division I) on the way to earning both Softball America Third-Team All-American and Mountain West Conference (MWC) Pitcher of the Year accolades. A Top 25 finalist for the 2021 USA Softball National Player of the Year trophy as well as a NFCA All-Pacific Region and All-MWC First Team selection, Dolcini rated first in the nation as a senior with 14 shutouts, fired two perfect games, struck out 10-or-more batters in a game 13 times and limited the opposition to a miniscule .175 batting average. In MWC play, Dolcini posted a 13-1 mark with a 0.89 ERA while leading the league in wins, strikeouts, ERA and opponent batting average. Along the way, she won seven 2021 MWC Pitcher of the Week awards and tied a program record with 18 K's in seven innings during a 6-0 win over New Mexico (April 2).
During her three-year stay at Fresno State, Dolcini registered a combined 49 wins with a 1.59 ERA, 42 complete games, 24 solo shutouts and 475 strikeouts over 391.1 innings of work.
Prior to her stint with the Bulldogs, Dolcini spent her 2018 freshman campaign at UC Riverside earning NFCA All-Pacific Region Third Team honors after tallying a 15-9 record with a 1.80 ERA, 15 complete games, five shutouts and 117 K's over 159.2 frames.
Over a standout inter-scholastic career at Fortuna H.S., Dolcini managed an impressive 83-15 career record with a 0.56 ERA and 1,176 strikeouts over 636.2 innings pitched, while averaging nearly two strikeouts-per-inning, limiting opponents to a .121 batting average and tossing 10 total no-hitters. A three-time MaxPreps/NFCA National Player of the Week, she also batted .473 over her H.S. career with 10 HR's and 88 RBIs. She was a four-time Humboldt Del Notre (HDN) League Most Valuable Player, an All-Small Schools CA First Team selection and a 2017 MaxPreps Small Schools First Team All-American following a senior season during which Dolcini went 23-2 with a 0.38 ERA, struck out 345 over 165 innings, fired seven no-hitters and two perfect games and batted .620 at the plate.
