Women’s Golf wraps opening day of Trinity Forest Invitational

The Longhorns sit in third place after the suspension of play (darkness) and the remainder of the second round to be completed tomorrow morning.
DALLAS – The Texas women's golf team opened its 2021 spring slate on Monday by firing a 14-over 486 through the majority of the first two rounds at the Trinity Forest Invitational. The second round was suspended due to darkness, and the Longhorns currently occupy third place in the team standings with the remainder of the second round to be played tomorrow morning.
Agathe Laisne is the low Longhorn thus far in the tournament, and one of three currently sitting in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard. Laisne fired a 1-over 73 in her first round and is even par through 11 holes in her second trip around the Trinity Forest Golf Club. She is currently tied for fifth place.
Ashley Park is currently in eighth place at 3-over par. The Irvine, Calif. native shot a 3-over 75 in her first trip around the course, and is at even-par through 12 holes in her second round. Bentley Cotton, a freshman from Austin, rounds out the top-10 Texas trio, sitting in a tie for ninth at 4-over par. She was 2-over in her first round (74) and is 2-over through 12 holes in her second round.
In the team standings, Texas is currently five shots back of second-place Oklahoma State on the leaderboard. Baylor (-4) was the only school to shoot under par as a team on Monday.
The Trinity Forest Invitational is expected to resume at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday with continuous play, resuming the second round and then moving immediately into the third round. Live results will be available throughout the day on Golfstat.com.
