No. 2 Volleyball sweeps Texas A&M - Corpus Christi

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Volleyball defeated Texas A&M - Corpus Christi 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-22) on Wednesday afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns remain unbeaten at 19-0, while the Islanders fall to 7-4 on the year. It is Texas' fourth sweep in five matches during the spring campaign and the 13th sweep overall this season.
Melanie Parra led the Longhorns, equaling a career-high with 10 kills and registering career-bests with seven digs and a .333 hitting percentage.
Skylar Fields collected nine kills, two blocks and a dig, while Asjia O'Neal posted seven kills (.636), two blocks and a service ace.
Adhu Malual established career-highs with six kills and a .455 hitting percentage, and added one dig and one block. Madison Williams had five kills, while Molly Phillips and Brionne Butler picked up four and three kills, respectively.
Morgan O'Brien tallied five services aces, including three straight early in the third set, while also registering 12 digs and dishing our four assists. Logan Eggleston picked up 10 digs, to go along with five kills, one block and a service ace that closed out the first set.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out a match-leading 33 assists and had nine digs. Naomi Cabello had 10 assists and one dig.
Next up, Texas will hit the road for a matchup with Texas State – the Longhorns' first match in San Marcos since 2008. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m. at the Strahan Arena and will stream on ESPN+.
