Television/Streaming Coverage: Live championship coverage will air on ESPN3 for preliminary and finals sessions for all four days (Wednesday through Saturday). ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 6.
Team Rankings: Texas is No. 3 in the latest CSCAA Division I poll (March 11) with 320 points. The Longhorns held the top spot in the national rankings in both the December and January polls. The top five in the rankings includes: Virginia (350), California (327), TEXAS (320), Georgia (300) and North Carolina State (299).
Storied Program: Texas has claimed a total of nine national titles in its proud history. The Longhorns won AIAW national championships in 1981 and 1982. UT added NCAA team titles in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990 and 1991.
Conference Dominance: The Longhorns have now captured nine-consecutive Big 12 Conference crowns (2013-21) and 19 overall Big 12 team titles. Texas has won a total of 33 conference championships (14 Southwest Conference, 19 Big 12 Conference). At this year's Big 12 Championship, the Longhorns won 20 of the 21 events and set nine Big 12 Championship meet records.
Head Coach Carol Capitani: Carol Capitani is in her ninth season at the helm of the Texas program. She has led the Longhorns to nine-straight Big 12 Conference crowns (2013-20) and top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championship meet in six of her previous seven opportunities. The 2020 NCAA Championship meet was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Big 12 Honors: Following an impressive performance at the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, the Longhorns swept the five meet individual honors. Kelly Pash was named Swimmer of the Meet, Olivia Bray claimed Newcomer of the Meet and Carol Capitani was tabbed Swimming Coach of the Meet. Paola Pineda earned Diver of the Meet, and Matt Scoggin was selected as Diving Coach of the Meet.
Individual Swimming Event Rankings:
Olivia Bray is seeded first in the 200 fly (1:52.03), third in the 100 fly (50.37) and fourth in the 100 back (51.04).
Julia Cook is sixth in the 100 back (51.14) and 11th in the 200 back (1:52.40).
Anna Elendt is sixth in the 100 breast (58.06) and sixth in the 200 breast (2:06.04).
Kelly Pash is tied for second in the 200 free (1:42.70), fourth in the 200 fly (1:52.69) and eighth in the 200 IM (1:55.13).
Evie Pfeifer is third in the 500 free (4:35.73), third in the 1650 free (15:48.65) and fifth in the 400 IM (4:04.61).
Emma Sticklen is ninth in the 100 fly (51.49) and 12th in the 200 fly (1:54.43).
In the Diving Well: Over the three-day NCAA Zone D meet, the UT women qualified four divers in nine total events for the NCAA Championships. Junior Paola Pineda, who won the platform at the NCAA Zone meet and the Big 12 Championships, and sophomore Jordan Skilken both qualified in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. Freshman Bridget O'Neil advanced on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, and sophomore Janie Boyle qualified on platform.
