No. 16 Women’s Golf concludes second round of Big 12 Championship

The Longhorns sit in fifth place at 7-under par after two rounds at Carlton Woods.
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The No. 16 Texas women's golf team shot a 4-under 284 on Monday during the second round of the Big 12 Championship at the Golf Club at Carlton Woods. Through two rounds, Texas is in fifth place at 7-under par, 20 shots back of leaders Oklahoma State.
Texas' second-round tally was led by a 4-under 68 from senior Agathe Laisne, who carded four birdies and no bogies in her second trip around the course. Laisne made birdies at the first, seventh, 10th and 17th holes. She is 4-under for the week overall and tied for eighth place.
Kaitlyn Papp and Sara Kouskova are both occupying top-10 spots as well, with each in a tie for 10th place at 3-under for the week.
Papp got to that mark after shooting a 2-under 70, while Kouskova fired a 1-under 71, on Monday. The former bounced back after a double bogey at the first to card seven consecutive pars, followed by four-straight birdies to get her card into red numbers. Papp dropped a shot at the 14th hole but got it back with her fifth birdie of the day on the 18th hole. Kouskova bogeyed the opening hole, but carded birdies at the ninth and 11th holes to shoot under par for the second time in as many outings.
Rounding out the Longhorns' lineup this week, Ashley Park is tied for 22nd after shooting a 3-over 75 on Monday. Hailee Cooper is in 44th place at 15-over par for the week.
The Longhorns tee off in their final round of the Big 12 Championship on Tuesday at 9 a.m. CT with playing partners from Kansas State and Texas Tech. Live results will be available throughout the round on Golfstat.com.
