No. 16 Women’s Golf places fifth at Big 12 Championship

The Longhorns had three top-15 finishers and shot 10-under as a team at Carlton Woods.
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The No. 16 Texas women's golf team finished the Big 12 Championship at 10-under, placing the Longhorns fifth in the conference field. Three Longhorns finished in the top 15 individually.
Agathe Laisne was the low Longhorn at 8-under and finishing in a tie for fourth place. Laisne made five birdies in her first 17 holes before dropping her lone shot of the day on the closing 18th. She caught fire on the back nine, making birdies on the 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th holes heading toward the club house. Laisne closed out this week's tournament with back-to-back 4-under 68's following an even-par 72 on Sunday.
Kaitlyn Papp tied for sixth, one shot behind her teammate. Papp logged 10-straight pars to open her final round, but, like Laisne, caught fire on the back nine with four birdies at the 11th, 14th, 17th and 18th holes. Papp's 4-under 68 was her best round of the week.
Sara Kouskova finished tied for 12th at 3-under par this week. She finished her final round of the Big 12 Championship with an even-par 72 that featured three birdies, one bogey and one double bogey. Kouskova had a 1-under round going before a double bogey at the 10th hole, but got her card back to even with a birdie at the 15th.
Ashley Park and Hailee Cooper finished in 35th and 44th place, respectively, as individuals this week. Park shot 8-over par, while Cooper finished 24-over at Carlton Woods.
The Longhorns will now await their fate for the NCAA Tournament, with the selection show set for Wednesday, April 28, at 1 p.m. CT on Golf Channel.
