"Our team is looking forward to some solid racing this weekend. There are three teams ranked in the top-15 and some perennially strong programs, including the best from Division II," said Texas head coach Dave O'Neill. "Our team has made some good progress the last couple of weeks and we'll be ready for what the event will bring."
The regatta features three teams currently ranked in the CRCA/USRowing Pocock Division I Coaches Poll, with Texas claiming the No. 2 ranking, and Alabama and SMU coming in at No. 10 and No. 14, respectively. The field also includes Notre Dame and Tulsa, who each received votes in the most recent poll, Big 12 rival Oklahoma and the University of Central Oklahoma, the top-ranked team in Division II.
